ROUND 1
what is a kink meme?
a kink meme is a fandom event where prompters submit prompts including a ship and a 'kink,' with or without a plot. writers can then claim and fill the prompts.why is it called a kink meme? it's mostly tradition at this point.most kink memes will have content that meets either or both fandom definitions of kink*, and not all fills are sexually explicit.the skz kink meme is a kink meme running over a limited period of time, with prompts and fills based around any and all stray kids ships.prompts and fills do not necessarily need to be sexual or romantic in nature - anything goes.
*kink, in this case, can refer to sexual kinks or to narrative 'kinks,'
which are non-sexual preferences for certain imagery, tropes, or elements of stories.
what are the rules?
all fills must be at least 100 words. there is no maximum wc.
all works should be tagged properly for the comfort of all participants; all works must follow archive guidelines for warnings.
participants must be 18 or older to submit explicit prompts or fills.
no hateful content; no sexual content involving minor characters. see prompting or writing sections for more information.
no plagiarism. if prompts or fills containing any prohibited content are found, the mods reserve the rights to delete the prompt and/or remove the finished work from the ao3 collection.
do not 'yuck' someone else's 'yum.' you may see prompts or fills that you do not like, but we expect all participants to behave maturely and simply scroll past that content. if any participants are found engaging in hateful behavior towards others based on the content in their prompts or works, the mods reserve the right to remove their prompts and/or finished works from the ao3 collection and ban them from future events.
please see the prompting and writing sections for more rules and best practices!
GENERAL FAq
why is it called a kink meme if the prompts/fills don’t have to be kink-related or explicit?
it's mostly tradition at this point; see also fanlore’s entry on kink memes.are there any restrictions?
participants must be 18 or older to submit explicit prompts or fills. all fills must be at least 100 words. all works must be tagged properly. no hateful content; no sexual content involving minor characters. no plagiarism. no kink-shaming.what about restrictions on content/kinks?
the only content we are disallowing is sexual content involving minor characters, and hateful content (any content that could be considered to be promoting bigotry, like racism, sexism, homophobia, and transphobia). other than that, anything goes. as with all kink memes, you may see prompts or fills that you do not like, but we expect all participants to behave maturely and simply scroll past that content. if any participants are found engaging in hateful behavior towards others based on the content in their prompts or works, the mods reserve the right to remove their prompts and/or finished works from the ao3 collection and ban them from future events.do i need an ao3 account to participate?
yes, you need an ao3 account to submit prompts or to claim and fill a prompt by posting a finished fic. if you do not have an account and need one, you can request an invite - the wait time is usually only a few days.
PROMPTING FAq
how do i submit a prompt?
click on 'prompt form' on the left side of the collection's profile to start submitting prompts!are prompts anonymous?
yes, we have the collection set to have prompts marked as anonymous automatically. you can manually uncheck the 'semi-anonymous' box on the prompt form if you do not want to be anonymous for some reason.how will i know if someone fills my prompt?
a notification email will be sent to whatever email address you have linked to your ao3 account!how many prompts can i submit?
each prompter can submit as many prompts as they’d like (ao3's limit is 50 per user).do i have to submit my prompts all at once?
no, you can submit more prompts at any time by editing your signup and adding them on. once you've submitted at least one prompt, you should see an 'edit signup' option to click when you are viewing your prompt submission.what is the 'title' of each prompt? am i titling the fics?
no - you should use the title field to add a basic one-line version of your prompt - this will make it easier for writers to see what your prompt is at a glance!what are 'optional tags'?
optional tags are just that - tags that you'd like to see for fills for your prompt, but that the writer doesn't necessarily need to add. this is a great place to put additional kinks or tags you'd enjoy seeing. please note that these do need to be canonical (or standard) tags; if you try to use a non-canonical tag, you will likely get an error when trying to submit your prompt.i submitted a prompt, but i got an error message that said 'that prompt would make your overall signup invalid, sorry!'
this error usually happens because you’re using a non-canonical (non-standard) tag - if you use a tag that is not an existing standard ao3 tag, it will break the prompt submission. go back and double-check for a tag that wasn’t auto-suggested by ao3 and try submitting again.when i submitted my prompt, i chose multiple rating options, but the only one showing is explicit.
prompts will only show the icon for the highest rating option you selected, but if you roll over the icon, it will show a popup with all of your chosen rating options!i submitted a prompt, and now it's gone. what happened?
the mods reserve the right to delete prompts as needed. read over our rules again and make sure your prompts do not contain anything that is not allowed before resubmitting. we also reserve the right to delete generic or duplicate prompts.
writing FAq
how do i claim a prompt?
press the 'claim' button below the prompt - this will save the prompt in your 'my claims' page on ao3.do i have to fill all of the prompts i claim?
not necessarily! claims are there to help you keep track of prompts you’re interested in filling. you may not get around to filling all of them, and that’s totally fine.what if i find a prompt i like, but someone has already claimed it?
multiple writers can claim and fill each prompt - if someone has claimed a prompt you like, you can also claim it and write your own fill! more cake for everyone!once i finish writing my fill, how do i submit it?
when you have completed a fill for one of your claimed prompts, go to 'my claims' on ao3 and click 'fulfill' to post your fill!do i need to submit prompts to claim and fill prompts?
you do not need to submit prompts to fill prompts, however you are more than welcome to do both! you are also welcome to fill your own prompts.are fills anonymous?
for this event, fills will not be be anonymous - if you would like your fills to be anonymous, you will need to add them to the generic anonymous collection like you would for any other work that you would like to keep anonymous.is there a word count limit?
fills need to be at least 100 words, but that’s the only requirement. if you want to write a ton of drabble-length fills that’s cool, and so is writing 100k for a fill if it inspires you!
prompting rules + best practices
each prompter may submit as many prompts as they would like. if you only submit one prompt and want to add more later, you can return to edit your signup and add additional prompts until prompting closes.
prompts must be focused on a relationship (platonic, romantic, or otherwise) between two or more members of stray kids.
prompts must be in english so that the mods and other participants can read them. if you need translation help, please let us know!
avoid negative commentary about tropes, ships, fandom trends, hot takes, etc. we are trying to prompt fic, not discourse.
the mods reserve the right to delete any prompts that contain hateful content (racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc.), sexual content involving minor characters, kinkshaming, or fandom discourse. generic prompts or duplicate prompts may be deleted.
describe what you want to see in positive terms and what you do not want to see in neutral terms - do not kinkshame yourself or others in your prompt. it's okay to like what you like, and okay for other people to enjoy what they enjoy, too!
be clear and specific about your squicks and triggers in your prompt's description. these can be grouped together as a "dnw" (do not want) section at the end of your description. as a reminder, writers are not required to follow your prompts 100%, but we encourage them to consider your dnws, and all fills must be tagged appropriately so that prompters are not surprised by a dnw halfway through reading a fic.
"no hard kinks" / "no dead dove" does not have an established definition - everyone will have different definitions, so please be specific if you have squicks or triggers that you would prefer not to see in fills for your prompt.
writing rules + best practices
each writer may fulfill as many prompts as they want.
multiple writers can claim and fill each prompt - if someone has claimed a prompt you like, you can also claim it and write your own fill! more cake for everyone!
all fills must be at least 100 words. there is no maximum wc.

no plagiarism. if fills containing any prohibited content (including plagiarism) are found, the mods reserve the right to remove the finished work from the ao3 collection.
the mods reserve the right to remove from the collection any fills that contain hateful content (racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc.) or sexual content involving minor characters.
prompters may include additional notes or optional tags in their prompts, which you can choose to include in your fills or not. while you are not required to match a claimed prompt 100% to the letter every time, if the prompter includes dnws (do not wants) like squicks or triggers, we ask you to try to avoid including any of that content in your fill to the best of your ability.
fills will not be anonymous - if you would like your fills to be anonymous, you will need to add them to the generic anonymous collection like you would for any other work that you would like to keep anonymous.
you do not need to submit prompts to fill prompts, however you are more than welcome to do both! you are also welcome to fill your own prompts.
